My obsession with blackboards can be traced back to the endless sessions of playing "school" with my younger sisters when we were kids. I would set up a little chalkboard against the wall of my bedroom and actually managed to get away with bossing them around for an hour or so in the name of imaginary play. Bliss for a type-A older sister...
With a giant chalkboard found in the salvage shed at a local University hanging on our back patio, a couple of IKEA chalkboard easels, a chalkboard coffee table in the den and a pantry covered in a gazillion coats of magnetic chalkboard paint (a project I'm not sure I would recommend to others), we might actually be reaching maximum chalkboard capacity in our house. And despite that, I'm can't stop thinking about the two "chalkboard" projects on Matthew Mead Style... Looks like I'll be figuring out how to work those into our abode as well.
p.s. I'm actually loving all the images on the Matthew Mead site. The mellow, earthy color palette that he uses throughout is pretty darn dreamy.
