Friday Faves

Happy Friday! I couldn't be more over the moon jazzed that it's friday even though it looks like THIS today in NYC.

I'm absolutely OBSESSED with this little ad campaign with Bryce Dallas Howard (a beautiful redhead!) for Kate Spade. How gorgeous is she, and how fun and happy are these colors? You know I love color and nothing is making me happier than this. Except one thing, today is my last day at my current job and I feel like this picture looks. I've accepted a new job to work for one of my favorite interior designers (not an architect, like my current job) and I can't wait to get started!

This little interior makes me think of spring and warm weather. Lounging around with fresh air coming in and out of that huge window. Alexandra Angle.

This soft yellow is so calming and beautiful. This stunning interior is by Muriel Brandolini whos portfolio I HIGHLY suggest scanning through. It's surprising and different, yet I still love it.

Wish me luck in my last day working for a firm who's main color scheme is grey and black with pops of stainless steel and moving forward to a firm who loves color just as much as I do! What is new with all of you, my presh readers?? Weekend plans?

Friday Faves

This week has been AMAZING because the warm weather finally came--but now it's been quickly ripped away from me and I've been left with rain and 60 degree weather. I'm practically left shivering compared to the 91 degrees we had two days ago. Yeah, I like warm weather. I'm really ready for it. WELL. Enough about me, let's get to Friday Faves, yes?
In my previous post I wrote about Scott Sanders' new book, Picture Perfect. This living room in a beach house is so full of color and life (from his website). I love the bright turquoise and the wall paper in the far room.

Lately I've been doing a lot of sewing (b/c i love to) and making pillows out of all the fabrics I have. I made this pillow a few nights ago from Lee Jofa fabric I believe. It is a gorgeous ikat and I backed it with a dark elephant grey linen. Right now it's $45, but when I put it up on my website it will be $52 so email me (aliciabdesigns at gmail dot com) if you're into it.

Whilst looking for some more inspiration fro my yellow dresser, I came across this great bedroom in Country Living. I think this really seals the deal with yellow and blue--they just look great together.

I'm off on a hot date tonight (with the bf) to Atlantic Grill- I'm pretty jazzed. I'm also working on a framed map sort of project which I'll let you know more about later! What are you all up to this weekend? Hopefully I'll get to spend some time outside if the rain holds off. Have a great weekend everyone!

Friday Faves a bit early.

Though it is only Thursday, I thought I'd give you a little taste of a Friday Fave because I'll be on vaca as of...now! I'm on my way down to sunny Puerto Rico for a much needed mini break with a friend of mine. I'm pretty jazzed for the sun and relaxation and don't worry I'll take plenty of pictures of the hotel so that we can all pick it apart or love on it design-wise!

I've always loved this image, a room designed by Gauthier Stacy. I was helping my soon to be graduated sister determine what her "personal design style" is and we picked out these bed frames as inspiration. I love how even though there is a lot of pattern and color (pink!) going on, the room still feels airy and open.

My photography show at Cosi's in West Hartford Center (Connecticut) is still up and will remain up until April 10th. Please take a minute to stop by and take a look! In honor of the last few weeks I've even lowered the prices a bit. How you like that??

I loved MOST of the latest Elle Decor. This island retreat is a little on the modern side but I love the way this spa like bathroom looks. The tiled walls are so pretty and reflect the light wonderfully. I wonder what it feels like to be in a wooden bath...

Well ya'll, I know it won't be same without me...but try to carry on. The weather on the East Coast is going to be GAWWWGEOUS as well so have some fun this weekend! I'm just so excited to don my sunglasses (SPF45 sunblock) and some sandals to wear to the beach where I'll be from tomorrow on!

Friday Faves

Cheval from my newest photos. www.aliciabdesigns.com

How about this snow, huh? People have been complaining about all the snow, but it's February! It's prettier than rain! I can't wait to take some pictures of this on my way to work. Anyway, it's Friday so let's have a little fun...

I saw this designer, Kendall Wilkinson, in the latest Decorati newsletter. I loved this bright blue wall with a tree painted behind it sort of like a headboard.

This is such a classic traditional scene with the antique chair and the gallery wall with ornate frames but Jonathan Adler makes it really fun with the oversized floor lamp and bold geometric rug.

I've been going over this whole house from Traditional Home by Ruthie Sommers over and over. It's colorful and light and these fabrics are so gorgeous. I love the rusty red zebra on those twisted back chairs.

I really must say that as I look out my window (into an icky courtyard of fire escapes) this snow is really just gorgeous. You might even go as far as to say MAGICAL. Might this snow thwart my plans of going to the flea market? Possibly. Not to worry though, I may just stay in over the weekend and sew pillows. It's every girls' dream. What are your plans for the weekend? Have a wonderful, magical, and snow embracing weekend!
