Random NYC Photo

Speaking of pups, here's a random photo of our pups in Central Park. We normally take the pups to our neighborhood's park and since we can't throw them on the subway, bus, or cab...they normally don't go to Central Park with us.

But in September I surprised my husband for his birthday by helping get two of his Vegas buddies to fly in to see him for the weekend. We had a gorgeous Sunday that weekend, grabbed the truck, and took them to see Central Park with the pups.

So after that incredibly long story, here's my husband, his friends, the pups, and a weird spirally hedge design in Central Park.

Sunday Afternoon Beauty

Sunday was a lovely day. I spent the majority of it lying out in the park reading the newspaper with some random guy I met (my bf). It was absolutely lovely so I'd like you to see a few of the pics I took of some of the most mind blowingly (yeah, that's a word) beautiful flowers I've ever seen. Ever. In the world.

Aaa. Park Avenue flowers.

I swear New York flowers are bigger than flowers anywhere else in the US.

In the park, I had to lie out in the shade because I may or may not have burned myself to a little crisp on Saturday. Oops.

Now it is Monday, but I think that Spring is finally here, and Summer is JUST around the corner! Something to look forward to, right? Did you all have a nice weekend? What did you do?

From Met to Park

After our J.M.W. Turner experience at the Met...which is on the East side of Central Park...we decided to head towards home...which is on the upper upper West side of Central Park. So we decided to take a stroll through Central Park and head West.

Note: This is not such an easy thing as you'd expect. Last time we tried this we walked for an hour or two and ended back up on the East side of the Park. :)

But this time we were successful and saw some beautiful scenery.
I'm still not too good about naming all the lakes and ponds. This is either part of The Lake or Conservatory Pond. Anyone know?
Although you can barely see them, through the trees is a group of people who meet and perform/learn folk dancing. I thought it was pretty cool:

I'm pretty sure this is The Lake where you can rent row boats and go boating. We need to do that at some point:

I even saw a guy painting the scenery. I'm still a bit shy about photographing people but I did here:
Some parts of The Lake are really mossy but I thought the weeping willow-ish tree looked pretty picturesque.

Even this light pole looked pretty cool:I credit this one to my husband. He told me to take the picture and it turned out pretty cool since the sun was behind the buildings:So then we poked around this area for a bit...does anyone know what it's called? Somehow we always end up in this area of Central Park. Of course I had to take pictures of the fountain and the water flowers:And of my husband (on the right) patiently waiting for me to finish taking all the photos. There's always people performing in the area behind my husband which is what everyone is looking at:This is the first time I took photos of the area inside though:I felt like I was in some old church or something. And then I saw this:Which was the third bride I'd seen in Central Park that day. How beautiful! But to the right of them I saw this:Those two were playing some really pretty but crazy music. The guy on the left had bells on his legs and the lady with the white cowboy hat (Texan I am sure) was dancing along with the music.

We ambled more through the park and then finally made our way home.

Hope you enjoyed the stroll through Central Park with me :)

Spotted!

I'm never one to brag (yes I am), but look who was filming for the upcoming season of Gossip Girl! I was busy taking pics of boats in the sail boat pond while Chase Crawford and Penn Badgley were directly behind me.

Can't wait for the new season!

Camera/crew and Chase Crawford.

Chase...contemplative close up.

Just a stroll...

I just got an email from my sister wondering why I'd been so lax in my postings. So without further ado...

A couple of weekends ago while out shopping, my husband and I cut across from the East side of town to the West and went through Central Park. Ok...that's sort of a lie. We meant to do that but ended up a little lost and back on the East side. So we just took the bus over to the West side. But in the meantime I got to take a few photos of a new area of the park I hadn't been to. It was slightly overcast so no blue skies but it was still nice out. Oh...and my brother was really excited because if you've seen the movie Enchanted, it's the place where she sings and dances in the park.

Oh...and another cool thing...he took a picture of the same place last December and couldn't believe how green it is now. Here's the December photo:

And here's a few weekends ago:

Here's the lake (not sure the name):

We want to rent rowboats sometime. Oh and this is the bridge my brother was so excited about from the movie:

And just a pretty droopy tree:

Hope you enjoyed the Central Park walk!
