Scenes from The Weekend

Friends, we're in the dog days, with the forecast calling for more consecutive days than I care to mention in the triple digits…

Triple. Digits.

Sigh.

Don’t worry; I won’t bore you with any more of my incessant complaining about the heat, but it did bear that brief mention, as it pretty much determined our weekend plans (i.e. take cover in air conditioned spaces, gorge on ice cream {at least until Sunday when the no-sugar detox kicked off} and find a pool to commander…or bust).

Here’s how things shook out: science museum with our ft. worth buddies, the best burger I’ve ever eaten (no exaggeration), monster ice cream sandwiches, swimming (thank goodness), a DMA date* with sweet Millie + her buddy Ava (and Ava’s utterly fantastic mom Sara, who just launched a fab new clothing line…), dinner with school friends, and more ice cream (you know I had to get my fix).

Hot as heck, but still good times to be had…

* local artist Jill Foley has created an incredible temporary family space/exhibit at the DMA called, The Living Room... It's truly stunning. If you live in Dallas, pack up the kiddos and make a trek over there stat.
